Our beautiful and loving 10 year old daughter Makanda Jaide was diagnosed with DIPG - brain cancer on May 11th, 2017. A day that will forever be etched in our minds. She fought with such bravery and courage for nearly a year. We lost her to this disease on April 28th, 2018 just 6 days before her 11th birthday. Each day since her diagnosis our family has had a drive to help in this fight against the most lethal form of pediatric cancer. Our need to continue on with Makanda's legacy is first and foremost in our lives. She was our entire world.

Her love for life and her compassion for others inspires us each and every day. Our hope is to continue to bring awareness and help with raising necessary funds to be used for the much needed research and cure for this disease. We are grateful and honored to be a part of The Cure Starts Now and their mission. This is for our Makanda Jaide. 💜

The Cure Starts Now (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric cancer may in fact provide us the critical first step in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult.
