Story

Aspen is such a strong, brave, and fearless little girl who is currently battling a highly aggressive and fast-growing form of brain cancer known as DIPG. Aspen has always been a fun and playful child. She enjoys playing with toys, playing outside, and acting out scenes with people. She is an avid animal lover and absolutely adores playing with her animals. She loves spending time with her whole family, going on hikes, and swimming. Aspen has an innate ability to make friends wherever she goes; her parents love watching her interact with the other kids at the park because she walks away with a new best friend nearly every time. She’s beautiful inside and out and is such a fighter.

Prior to her diagnosis, Aspen began showing behavioral changes that were unusual for her, followed by difficulty walking and running. She often complained of being dizzy and, after waking up, she would shake and experience issues with her fine motor skills. Her parents were very concerned. After Aspen’s diagnosis, her family was beyond devastated. It had never even crossed their minds that brain cancer was the cause of her symptoms. They are determined to keep their precious daughter here and are doing everything in their power to help her fight DIPG.

Following diagnosis, Aspen immediately began a treatment protocol and has since finished an intense 30-round course of radiation this past August and started a clinical trial. From the day she was born, Aspen has always done things on her own terms, however, DIPG has had no effect on her feisty stubbornness. She’s ripped IVs out of her hand because she “didn’t want it in.” She’s had to have larger doses of sedatives during procedures because she refuses to take a nap. The day after her brain biopsy, she was ready to wrestle her dad despite her procedure and stitches.

Aspen is such a strong little girl with a huge heart. She continues to amaze people with her ability and stubbornness to fight this horrific tumor. She refuses to let it slow her down.

Funding for pediatric brain cancer research means the world to Aspen and her family. It means finding a cure to end this devastating disease. It means keeping Aspen alive so she can live out her precious life. She has so much to live for. Aspen is one tough little cookie who has the determination to beat this - she just needs the opportunity. Your donation could be the difference between a child living a full life or their life being tragically cut short.
