Maddie is five years old and was diagnosed with with dipg in January 2019., she is currently doing radiation. The tumor was discovered on the 9th and had a biopsy which confirmed high grade dipg. Maddie has an incredibly devoted family, especially her big sister Payson. She is a courageous big sister and Mads loves her dearly. Please keep Maddie and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

On January 9th, Mads was rushed to Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. where we learned that she has an inoperable tumor on her brainstem. This news came out of nowhere; Maddie was an active five year old one day and unable to move her left side the next. Maddie had multiple scans as well as a biopsy of the tumor, a procedure that few surgeons are willing to perform.

On January 18, Maddie and her family received the news that the results of the biopsy are consistent with stage 3/4 DIPG. Mads is working each day to overcome the after effects of the biopsy as well as the symptoms of the tumor pressing on her nerves. On January 24, Maddie started her first of thirteen radiation treatments she will receive over the next three weeks. She is fighting bravely and
