Story

Olivia is a beautiful, eccentric, and silly 6-year-old that is currently battling a highly aggressive and fast-growing form of brain cancer known as DIPG. She is always smiling and laughing. She brings smiles to everyone's face that she meets, and she shines bright like the sun. She loves Power Rangers, dinosaurs, playing with Barbies and her favorite movie is “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” She enjoys drawing pictures and is full of creativity and has a big imagination.

Olivia's favorite holiday is Halloween. She loves Jack Skellington and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her favorite ride at Disney World is the Haunted Mansion. She likes to pretend she is a dancing skeleton. Most of all she is the silliest little girl we've ever met and we love everything about her.

Before Olivia was diagnosed, her parents noticed that her eye began crossing, along with changes in her depth perception and balance, and she began complaining of headaches. Her diagnosis was quite a whirlwind that included an immediate shunt placement and jumping right into treatment.

For Olivia’s parents, what stands out more than anything when it comes to discussing Olivia's tumor and cancer with her is that she has remained happy, smiling, and laughing. While she has said she wished that she didn't have a tumor, she has chosen to go into each day with joy and has grown to love her doctors and the hospitals.

Olivia is one of a kind. Her strength, resilience, and grace through her journey are so inspiring. At 10-months post-diagnosis, Olivia is still as strong as ever and still smiling. DIPG will not steal her happiness or sunshine!

Funding research for DIPG will bring a cure. Olivia’s parents want her and all of the other children with DIPG to get to live the lives they deserve.
